Modern
Mustangs of Jacksonville (MMJAX) is an organization for owners
and enthusiasts of the Modern Mustang ’79 to current but we also accept all
Mustangs from 64 to current. We
believe that everyone is entitled to his/her own personal taste and we welcome
ALL Mustangs into our club. We are one of the largest car clubs in the
Jacksonville area with members from all parts of Northeast Florida.
We have a very diverse group of members and that is one of the many things
that sets our club apart from the others. We have members ranging from the
ages of 15 yrs. and up, both men and women, active & retired military, different
personal style and tastes and a variety of cultural backgrounds. But one thing
we all share is our OBSESSION with our Stang’s. We enjoy each
other’s company and we respect each other without exception. We pride
ourselves on being a “Family” and we hope to continue this tradition for many
years to come.
Having said that, we are a casual club with no required attendance or
expectations from its members other than to represent MMJAX in a positive light
at all times. We would like everyone to participate in club activities when
they are available and we highly encourage their participation in our annual car
show. Club meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month and
we are actively searching out a new permanent home for these meetings so keep an
eye on our Calendar, and Forums for the next meeting. We discuss current club business and up-coming events,
our cars, and all things Mustang, oh and did I mention we Eat! These
meetings are a great chance to come out and see who we are and what we are all
about.
We
have a very active Club and some members that participate in Autocross, Road
Racing, and Open Test and Tune at one of the many legal racetracks. Other
members prefer to compete in car shows and travel all over the Southeast adding
to their numerous wins and titles. You may have even seen some of their
Stang’s in magazine and newspaper articles. Or sometimes we just like
to hang out and Cruise somewhere for no particular reason. We are always doing
something so check out our “Events
Calendar” on our website to find out where we are.
We are growing fast and we are always looking for new members and long-lost
members to resurface, so if you are interested in joining please go to the
Member Application page and fill out an online application. Or if you
prefer, locate one of the Club Officer’s at one of our many outings to get a
printed copy of the form.
Keep an eye out for one of our current logo’s on the windows of Mustangs all
around Jacksonville and please feel free to join in the fun!

Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine features Ford Mustangs include favorites like the 2007 Mustang Steeda Q335 to a tricked out 1994 Ford Mustang GT that was torn apart and upgraded in every area, from a Mach 1 Shaker hood to BMW M3 side vents seamlessly placed into the front fenders.
Point blank, no Mustang in history can match what Ford will release this year as a 2013 model. We're talking about the next Shelby GT500, and with 650 hp, 600 lb-ft of torque, and a top speed of over 200 mph, this Dearborn destroyer will leave no question as to which Pony car is king.
As any project progresses, you hope there is a payoff. In the case of our 5.3L, big-bore Four-Valve for Superfly-DOHC, the payoff came with strong power numbers on the engine dyno.
Over the course of hot rodding, one of the more debatable upgrades has been swapping camshafts--especially in modular engines. Given the Two-Valve's complexity and cost of buying two camshafts, the question posed isn't will it increase horsepower, but more appropriately, how much of an increase in horsepower?
Some guys take a 5-liter Fox-body Mustang LX or GT, put a turbo or supercharger under the hood, and call it a sleeper. Others transplant a mod motor into a four-cylinder car and think they have achieved sleeper status. But there's more than just leaving a car looking stock and adding power.
On August 21, 2011, AmericanMuscle.com (AM) hosted the third of its annual charity car shows. Deleware County Community College in Media, Pennsylvania, played host to AM's largest show to date--with all the proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warriors Project.

Ever thought about how a Ford Mustang would turn out from a free fall? Would it nail the dismount? What’s the chance this pony car might land on its feet? Actually, the chances here are pretty good for both…albeit serious damage ensued shortly after the 2011 Mustang GT took flight. Across the pond in Lugano, [...]

Many of you know there are still a few work-in-progress Mustangs in our fleet (Editor Steve Turner's Fox 500, Tech Editor KJ Jones' Boss 340, and Associate Editor Michael Johnson's Project Roadkill). And, contrary to what might be consensus thought, we still plan on getting those 'Stangs completed sometime before the next millennium gets here.
At first glance, the idea of successfully staging a multi-day Mustang event way out in the western reaches of South Dakota--far from any major urban center--might seem just a little, well, optimistic. After all, it's more a land of pickups than ponycars. But after our overdue first visit this past Labor Day weekend, we've come to realize that its Black Hills locale is just one more reason to put the Sturgis Mustang Rally on your event calendar for next September.
Every July, pilots and other aviation enthusiasts descend on Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for a week-long festival of flight known as AirVenture. Billed as The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration--and rightfully so as annual attendance typically hovers around the half-million mark--AirVenture is hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association.
